Oxblood & Cobalt Inspiration

Hey there strangers! I'm not sure how the past month flew by so quickly, but I have a feeling that full-blown wedding season has something to do with it!

Now I know you all checked out the awesome Green Wedding Shoes feature back in April (hint, hint, if you didn't you should click on those pink letters now), but how crazy would I be if I didn't show more scrumptious details on my own blog??? I am still so darn proud of this shoot that I did with incredible Stella Bloom Designs and Anna Delores Photography

In planning this shoot, I knew I wanted to go bold and dramatic. When I visited the fabulous Riviera Mansion, the deep oxblood in the carpet and the brilliant cobalt blue of the Spanish tile dictated the palette. One of the many fabulous things about the Riviera Mansion is the overgrown trellis where we staged the ceremony site. Amy from Stella Bloom Designs created a ceremony backdrop dripping with garden roses, clematis, chocolate cosmos and hanging amaranths for a setting that was out-of-this-world romantic. I introduced the cobalt into the ceremony setting by stringing together Moroccan tiles that I had painted  and hung them from the trellis. I also incorporated cobalt bottles that were set on wooden disks with pillar candles and moss.

And talk about romantic... it certainly doesn't hurt when your models are 2 gorgeous people in love! Not to mention, a master photographer and the prettiest little headband by Acute Designs.

And isn't this the raddest setting for bride and groom portraits?! All the artifacts are genuine and have been maintained for over 100 years!

It's no secret that I'm a HUGE fan of Amy's work at Stella Bloom Designs, but just look at that bouquet! Can you blame me?

And then, of course, there's the amazing tablescape with abundant florals, tabletop goodies by Hostess Haven and the cutest little salt and pepper shakers I've ever seen, sourced by Posey Vintage. I was so happy with the way the tile fireplace facade of the library was complemented by the color palette.

Our dinner setup was made even more elegant with beautiful handwritten calligraphy by the ever-amazing Rebecca Caridad of Manzanita!

I knew that the gorgeous staircase HAD to be draped in flowers so to top it all off, we created a gorgeous and dramatic garland to create a focal point for the cake and yummy macarons by De Coeur Bake Shop
